The Maremma is the south-western corner of Tuscany — farmland and wooded hills running down to a long, pine-backed coast. It sees far fewer visitors than the country around Siena and Florence, and it is all the better for it.
Casa Carletto sits in open countryside between Campagnatico and Grosseto. Most days divide themselves easily: a morning in a hill town or at a market, the hot part of the afternoon at the pool, and dinner somewhere local as the light goes.
